About Me

I teach courses related to Celtic languages, literature, and mythology at the University of Vienna. I have a PhD in Indo-European Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles, as well as degrees in Celtic Studies from the University of Edinburgh and St. Francis Xavier University and a degree in linguistics from Concordia University. I’ve been focused on medieval Irish language and literature since I started studying Celtic Studies at StFX, but I have also studied several other Indo-European languages and mythologies, and particularly enjoy doing comparative work between medieval Irish and ancient Greek stories. My main interest is in the stories of the Ulster Cycle, and I have spoken about them at a number of international conferences and published several articles related to Ulster Cycle texts. My publications are available on my Humanities Commons profile page and you can follow me on Mastodon at @AnnaJunePage@mstdn.ca.

I decided to start this blog as a way to share the wonderful stories of the Ulster Cycle with a wider audience and to have a place to talk about them in a more informal setting than academic conferences and publications. You can read more about my plans for this blog here, in my first post, which was published on October 14, 2024.
